What kind of game is LEGACY OF MAGIC?

LEGACY OF MAGIC is an massive online roleplaying game where magic and adventures are the key-factors.

In what way will LEGACY OF MAGIC differ from the excisting online roleplaying games?

LEGACY OF MAGIC will be different: Players will be confronted with less violence. This doesn't mean that there is a total lack of violence in the game but every player can choose how violent the game will be. The game will focus rather on intelligent gameplay and strategy.

Can whe expect a different interface or Graphics compared to other RPGs?

Yes, the interface will be highly adaptable, not by the player himself. Instead it will depend on the development of the character. This means that the interface will adapt itself highly according to the abilities of the character the player is using.

Is LEGACY OF MAGIC a static game in relation to gameplay?

No, LEGACY OF MAGIC will adapt itself thanks to a highly sophisticated AI-engine that creates worlds according to several environmental parameters like: How many users are on-line, which level a chracter is, what is happening on-line between players, a complete weather system, regressive reasoning, and an environmental engine which spawns creatures and natural things like trees, plants, animals and basic materials.

Is LEGACY OF MAGIC a mage game?

While the title assumes an overal magic game, magic in LEGACY OF MAGIC is an integral part of the game. However, this doesn't mean that there are only mage-characters in the game. There is actually almost a limitless number of characters in the game!

What kind of characters are in LEGACY OF MAGIC?

There is only 1 character, a base-character so to speak from which all the characters are derived from. Every new character will start as this basecharacter. Depending on the kind of game-play the user invokes, the character will learn certain skills that will further specialize his character. The player will always be able to change or develop special skills according to his needs. Of course this depends on the level the player has reached. It would be an unnatural thing for a lvl 1 character to be able to summon some demons as an example.....

Is LEGACY OF MAGIC a commercial product and must I pay for it?

Because of the nature of the development there are no plans for a fee-system right now. This doesnt mean that there wont be one at all. It will depend on how many people will put effort in development of the game. Some specialized coders will certainly want to be paid for there hours of effort. But for now the people wich are working on the game, do this for free, so there are no plans yet for a fee system.

Can I help in the development of LEGACY OF MAGIC?

Yes, you can. Just write a short mail to one of the boardmasters or post a message in the appropriate board with your intensions. Early developers or people wich add contributions to the game will profit from certain benefits or rights.

Can I help with LEGACY OF MAGIC if I have no knowledge of coding?

Yes, you can! Most of the work (time) in development of the game, will be artwork and betatesting and debugging. As said before, just drop a mail or post at the appropriate board with your intensions.

Are there any tools to make graphics or characters for the game?

Yes, these tools are under development right now. If you register and post a message on the appropriate board, you will be informed when the toolkit will be deployed to the Co-developers in time.

How long will it take until the toolkit 1.0 will be deployed?

Not very long. Toolkit 1.0 is almost ready.

Can I make suggestions in what the game will look like or rules in play?

Yes, you can. Just post a message in the appropriate messageboard. Your suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Does LEGACY OF MAGIC obey the general rules of AD&D?

While these rules have been the base for the development of LEGACY OF MAGIC there are a lot of differences to these rules. This is because LEGACY OF MAGIC has no static world at a certain point. The world is merely created by the AI and the way players develop there abilities.
